The Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, and Mrs Susan Satyanand, visited Whenua Hou (Codfish Island) off the coast of Stewart Island on 9 October 2007 to inspect the native bird breeding programmes. The island is a predator-free bird sanctuary and is leading work on breeding the endangered Kakapo. They and Department of Conservation kakapo programme officer, Tristan Rawlence, are pictured with some Campbell Island teals.
