  • <span class="title">Rhodes Scholars</span><br/><p>  The Governor-General, Hon Sir Anand Satyanand, with the Rhodes Scholars-elect to study at Oxford University in 2010 (from left): Alice Irving (University of Otago), Thomas Hills (University of Otago), Richard Stebbing (University of Auckland).  Ms Irving will undertake a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) and an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice and she intends to work as a criminal defence lawyer, then in social policy and legal reform work.  Mr Hills plans to study for an MSc in Integrated Immunology leading to his eventual goal, a DPhil programme.  Once his studies are complete, Thomas plans to return to New Zealand to train as a medical specialist.  Mr Stebbings will pursue a DPhil in Biomedical Engineering at Oxford.  Once his studies are complete he plans to return to this country to continue work in either the academic or industrial sectors.
