New Zealand Scholarship Top Scholar Awards

  • <span class="title">Xiaoxiao Michelle Ye</span><br/>Xiaoxiao Michelle Ye, of Auckland's Rangitoto College, received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards.  She also received the top subject award for maths with calculus.
  • <span class="title">Thomas Wilkinson</span><br/>Thomas Wilkinson, of Christchurch's Papanui High School, received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards. 
  • <span class="title">Timothy Vogel</span><br/>Timothy Vogel, of Auckland's Mt Roskill Grammar School, received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards.  He also received the top subject award for chemistry.
  • <span class="title">Heath Andrew Joseph Vinicombe</span><br/>Heath Andrew Joseph Vinicombe, of Auckland's Westlake Boys' High School, received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards. 
  • <span class="title">Ella Rose Tunnicliffe-Glass</span><br/>Ella Rose Tunnicliffe-Glass, of Auckland's St Cuthbert's College, received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards.  She also received the top subject award for geography.
  • <span class="title">Arkesh Patel</span><br/>Arkesh Patel, of Auckland's Westlake Boys' High School, received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards.  He also received the top subject award for science.
  • <span class="title">Kane Christopher O'Donnell</span><br/>Kane Christopher O'Donnell of St Peter's School received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards. 
  • <span class="title">Jacob Diggle</span><br/>Jacob Diggle of Wellington College received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards.  He also received the top subject award for art history. 
  • <span class="title">Jingcheng Bian</span><br/>Jingcheng Bian of Auckland Grammar School received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards. 
  • <span class="title">Emily Christine Adlam</span><br/>Emily Christine Adlam of Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland received a Premier Award in the 2008 New Zealand Scholarship Awards.  She also received the top subject awards for Latin, Physics and Statistics and Modelling.

With the Minister of Education, Hon Anne Tolley, the Governor-General, Hon Sir Anand Satyanand, presented the Top Scholar Awards from the 2008 Scholarship Examinations at a ceremony at Parliament's Banquet Hall on 14 May 2009. The ceremony was held at Parliament rather than Government House due to the closure of the House in late 2008 for a major conservation project.
