Investitures - Christchurch

  • <span class="title">Richard Wallace</span><br/><p>  Archdeacon Richard Wallace, of Hokitika, who is pictured with Governor-General Hon Anand Satyanand, and Mrs Susan Satyanand, after the ceremony, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to Māori.    </p>
  • <span class="title">Susan Wei Hou</span><br/><p>  Susan Wei Hou, of Dunedin, received the Queen's Service Medal, for services to the Chinese community.   She has voluntarily been the chief Chinese interpreter at the Dunedin Public Hosptial for some 20 years and was the sole Chinese interpreter with the local police until 2001.   </p>
  • <span class="title">Wiki Baker</span><br/>Wiki Baker, of Temuka, received the Queen's Service Medal for services to Māori, music and the community.  Ms Baker, who is pictured with Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, and Mrs Susan Satyanand, after the ceremony, has been involved in a variety of organisations in South Canterbury for more than 20 years.
  • <span class="title">Steve Wilson</span><br/>Steve Wilson, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business.  Mr Wilson, who is pictured with Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, and Mrs Susan Satyanand, after the ceremony is the managing director Talbot Plastics, which has been at the leading edge of plastics technology. 
  • <span class="title">Sophie Pascoe</span><br/>Sophie Pascoe, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to swimming.  Miss Pascoe, who is pictured after the ceremony with Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand, competed and won several gold medals at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing.
  • <span class="title">Felicity Price</span><br/>Felicity Price, of Christchurch, received the Insignia of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the arts and business.  Ms Price, who is pictured with Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, after the ceremony, is the Chair of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and the Court Theatre Trust. 
  • <span class="title">Brendon Fraher </span><br/>Colonel Brendon Fraher, of Wanaka, received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the New Zealand Defence Force.   Col Fraher was Commander of the New Zealand Provincial Reconstruction Team in Bamyan Province, Afghanistan from October 2007 to April 2008.   He is pictured after the ceremony with Lt General Jerry Mataparae, Chief of Defence, right, and Major General Lou Gardiner, Chief of Army, left.
  • <span class="title">David Skegg</span><br/><p>  Professor David Skegg, of Dunedin, received the Insignia of a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to medicine.   Professor Skegg, who is also Vice-Chancellor of Otago University, is pictured after the ceremony with wife, Dr Keren Skegg, and Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand.  </p>

Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, invested 37 people with New Zealand honours at an investiture ceremony at the Air Force Museum in Christchurch on 20 March 2009.
