PDSA Gold Medal

On behalf of the PDSA, Britain's largest veterinary charity, Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, travelled to the South Taranaki town of Manaia, and presented Alan Gay with the charity's Gold Medal, on 11 February 2009. The award was a posthumous award for Mr Gay's dog, Jack Russell Terrier, George, who in 2007, saved several children from being attacked by two pit bull terriers.
