  • <span class="title">Garden Party, Government House Auckland</span><br/>Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand and Mrs Susan Satyanand, hosted a garden party at Government House Auckland to celebrate Auckland Anniversary Day on 29 January 2007.   <p>  &nbsp;  </p>
  • <span class="title">T4T event</span><br/>As Patron of the New Zealand Down Syndrome Association, the Governor-General, The Hon Anand Satyanand, hosted the inaugural New Zealand Down Syndrome Association T4T event at Government House Auckland on 20 March 2007. The event also commemorated World Down Syndrome Day, held the following day. 21 March was chosen as it signifies the uniqueness of Down syndrome in the triplication of the 21st chromosome.
  • <span class="title">Visit of the President of Uganda</span><br/><br />  The President of Uganda, HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, was welcomed to New Zealand at a State Welcome hosted by the Governor-General of New Zealand, Hon Anand Satyanand, at Government House Auckland on 30 March 2007.
  • <span class="title">Order of New Zealand 20th Anniversary Celebrations</span><br/>The 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Order of New Zealand was celebrated at a function at Government House, Wellington, on 20 June 2007, hosted by the Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, and Mrs Susan Satyanand. The Order of New Zealand is New Zealand’s highest honour and ordinary membership is limited to 20 people living at any time.   • <span class="title">Antarctic Book launch</span><br/>The friendship forged between New Zealand and the United States on the ice of Antarctica was celebrated at a book launch at Government House, Wellington, on 22 June 2007. Neville Peat's book, Antarctic Partners, examines 50 years of co-operation between the two countries since 1957. Pictured: The Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, and HE William McCormick, Ambassador of the United States, cut a celebratory cake to mark the partnership.
  • <span class="title">Visit to Houghton Valley School</span><br/>On June 26, the Governor-General, Hon Anand Satyanand, and Susan Satyanand, visited Houghton Valley School in Wellington for the School's Book Week. The Governor-General read a book to the School's students in the School Hall and answered questions regarding his role. Their Excellencies are pictured after the reading with Principal Barry Schon, and student, Matthew Parris, who made a whaikorero on behalf of the students.
