The Governor-General’s formal title has changed with Buckingham Palace announcing new rules for the use of the title, “The Right Honourable” in New Zealand.
Henceforth, the Governor-General’s formal title is: His Excellency, The Right Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand, GNZM, QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand.
The Queen has given approval for those appointed to the offices of Governor-General, Prime Minister, Speaker and Chief Justice to be granted the title "The Right Honourable" for life.
The Governor-General, Hon Sir Anand Satyanand, and Lady Susan Satyanand have, over their term in office, emphasised the important role that volunteers play in New Zealand society.
The generosity and dedication of the thousands of New Zealanders who volunteer their time, energy and skills to assist sporting, cultural and charitable organisations, not only helps build strong and sustainable communities, but also makes a significant economic contribution to our country and what can be called its civic strength.

Not once, but twice! It is with great pleasure that I again send my congratulations to the New Zealand Football team competing in South Africa for their ongoing achievements in the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
The draw against Slovakia that saw New Zealand gain its first ever World Cup point was an excellent outcome for the All Whites. For the team to then hold Italy to a one-all draw has rightly drawn national and international praise for the New Zealand team.
